I entered my new card but the renewal payment was not processed.

I made another payment via Chase cc. and is taken as anew subscription.

How can I get my payment to be applied to my existing:

******@msn.com account

Thanks

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

    Just to confirm:

    1. When the renewal didn’t go through, did you manually purchase a new subscription using your Chase card?
    2. Were you signed in to the same ******@msn.com account when you made that payment?

This is important because subscriptions cannot be merged or transferred once created. A new payment will always create a separate subscription.

    Please check this:

    If yes, then:

    • One is your original subscription
    • The other is the new one you purchased
    • From there, we can figure out which one you want to keep.

Can you confirm what you see on your Services page?

The payment made with the Chase credit card cannot be reallocated manually to an existing Microsoft 365 subscription from the customer side. When a card payment is processed as a new subscription instead of a renewal, the billing profile and subscription mapping must be corrected by Microsoft Billing Support.

    Use these steps:

    1. Verify the new card details on the existing subscription
      • Go to the Services & subscriptions page while signed in with the ******@msn.com account.
      • Confirm that the new card is correctly added as the payment method for the existing subscription (card number, expiration date, name, and billing address must match the bank statement).
      • If needed, update or add the payment method following the guidance in Add a new bank or credit card to your Microsoft account.
    2. Cancel the unintended new subscription
      • On the same Services & subscriptions page, locate the subscription that was created by the Chase card payment.
      • Use Manage → cancel or turn off recurring billing for that new subscription so it does not renew again.
    3. Contact Microsoft Billing Support to request correction/refund
      • Because funds are already captured on the new subscription, a support agent must:
        • Review both subscriptions under the ******@msn.com account.
        • Cancel or refund the unintended subscription (if eligible) and ensure the existing subscription is active and paid.
      • Follow the “Contact Microsoft Support” path described in the Q&A examples (Get Help → Contact Support → choose Microsoft 365 & Office → Manage my subscription / Billing and Payment updates → Chat with a support agent).
    4. If the original renewal still fails after this
      • Double-check with the bank that the new card is active and not blocked by security checks or Strong Customer Authentication requirements.
      • If the card continues to be declined, the bank must clear any blocks or security restrictions before Microsoft can successfully charge it.

This combination of self-service steps (verifying payment methods and canceling the unintended subscription) plus contacting Billing Support is required to have the Chase payment applied correctly or refunded and to keep the existing ******@msn.com subscription active.
