refund request

Hello, I got charged for 2 Microsoft subscriptions a for 2 of my email accounts. I did not realize that my Microsoft family subscription was not cancelled since I had not used in a while. So signed up for a new subscription this past November of 2025 under a new email. I paid $99 for a year, well then 2 months later on January 04, I was charged $129.99 from the same bank account. So I could not figure out why they charged me $129 when I had just paid $99 for a Microsoft subscription 2 months ago. Well I finally figured it out that it was from my other email which I had originally signed up with Microsoft a while back and the subscription was never cancelled. So I do not need 2 Microsoft accounts on my laptop I only need one. Since I will no longer need to use this account and you can verify that I have not used it in the last year I would like to obatin a full refund of $129.99. Thank you so much.

Refunds and billing adjustments for duplicate Microsoft 365 subscriptions can only be handled by Microsoft’s billing support after the extra subscription is cancelled.

    To proceed:

    1. Cancel the unneeded Microsoft 365 subscription
      1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the email account that was charged $129.99 (the older subscription).
      2. Find that Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
        • If you only see Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and will not be charged again.
      3. On the next page, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on what is shown).
      4. Follow the on‑screen steps to complete cancellation.
If this subscription was purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store, cancellation and refund must be requested through their support instead. For Play Store purchases, see Learn about Google Play refund policies. For Apple App Store purchases, request a refund from Apple support.
    2. Check refund eligibility
      • For Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium subscriptions bought directly from Microsoft, refund eligibility is evaluated after cancellation.
      • If the subscription was purchased in Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, or Turkey, a prorated refund may be available depending on subscription length and renewal status. See Countries with prorated refunds for Microsoft subscriptions.
    3. If the charge is still unclear or you need a manual review
      • Sign in to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard to review the charge details.
      • If the situation is not resolved by cancellation and automatic refund processing, contact Microsoft Support so an agent can review both subscriptions and the duplicate billing:
        • Go to Contact Microsoft Support.
        • Select the product (Microsoft 365 & Office) and a billing category such as Manage my subscription or Billing and Payment updates.
        • Choose Chat with a support agent or a callback option and explain that there are two active Microsoft 365 subscriptions on different email accounts charged to the same bank account and that a refund is requested for the unused one.

Only Microsoft Support can verify usage and process a refund for the $129.99 charge; community or automated tools cannot access or adjust billing.
