Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
To renew a Microsoft 365 subscription and then get help from a live agent, follow these steps:
- First, renew the subscription online
- Open any Microsoft 365 app (for example, Word or Excel).
- If a yellow bar appears saying RENEW YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, select Buy and follow the steps to renew online.
- If a yellow bar appears saying SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRED, select Reactivate, then select Buy to renew online. If there is a new, unused Microsoft 365 product key from a retailer, select Enter Key instead.
- After renewal, close all Office apps and reopen them so the message disappears.
- Alternative renewal options
- Renew by entering a new product key or download code for another year of Microsoft 365.
- Or turn on recurring billing for the existing subscription so it renews automatically each period. This also shows the renewal price.
- If help from an agent is needed (billing, charges, problems renewing)
- Go to the Microsoft Support site and use Get Help / Contact support.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
- Choose the Microsoft 365 & Office (home) product and a billing/subscription category.
- Select a support option such as Chat with a support agent or Call me back (availability depends on region and hours).
If there are unrecognized charges, double billing, or refund questions after renewal, contact Microsoft Billing Support through the same support entry point and ask them to review the subscription and payments.
