Exams are not certifications. The AZ-400 exam is only part of the requirements for the Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification. You must also hold an active Azure Administrator or Azure Developer Associate certification.

Microsoft certifications and badges are now managed directly in Microsoft Learn; Credly/Acclaim is no longer used for new badges.

For a missing AZ-400 badge after passing the exam in December, follow these steps:

    1. Confirm the certification is actually earned
      • Go to the AZ-400 exam page and verify that AZ-400 is part of the requirements for Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert and that all prerequisite certifications (such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Developer Associate) are active if aiming for the Expert certification.
      • If only the exam was passed but the full certification requirements are not met, the DevOps Engineer Expert certificate/badge will not be issued yet.
    2. Check the correct Learn profile and account
      • Sign in to Microsoft Learn and open the profile.
      • Go to Credentials → Certifications and verify whether the AZ-400 exam/certification appears.
      • If it is missing, there may be multiple Learn profiles or different login accounts (personal vs. work/school). Try signing in with any other Microsoft accounts that might have been used when registering for the exam.
    3. Access certificates/badges from the Certification Dashboard
      • From the Learn profile, open the Certification Dashboard.
      • Use View Certificates and View Transcript to confirm whether AZ-400 and/or the DevOps Engineer Expert certification is present.
      • If the certification is present there but no badge is visible on the profile card or elsewhere, manage and share it from the dashboard as described in the badges/certificates guidance.
    4. If the certification is present but the badge is missing or not visible
      • Badges shown in Microsoft 365 or other places are controlled by the issuing platform and the email identity. Ensure the badge source (Microsoft Learn) has the same email as the Entra/Microsoft 365 account if expecting it to appear on a profile card.
      • If a badge is incorrect or missing, update it at the source (Learn profile/Certification Dashboard) or contact the tenant administrator if this is within an organizational tenant.
    5. If AZ-400 or the related certification does not appear at all
      • Use Microsoft Credentials Support to open a support request for missing exams/certifications or badge issues. Provide exam details and any confirmation from Pearson VUE.

These steps align with current behavior where Credly is no longer issuing Microsoft certification badges and all management is done via Microsoft Learn and the Certification Dashboard.
