Certification records cannot be directly “transferred” from one Learn profile to another, and Microsoft Credentials Support cannot recover or move data from a Learn profile that is no longer accessible because the associated personal Microsoft account cannot be recovered.
If access to the original Microsoft account itself is lost, the only supported recovery path is through the Microsoft account self-service flows:
- Use the guidance under:
- “Forgotten your Microsoft account username”
- “My username and password have stopped working”
- “Reset a forgotten Microsoft Account Password” as listed in the Learn profile access article.
- If those flows do not restore access, Microsoft Credentials Support cannot transfer or restore the contents of that Learn profile, including historical certifications.
If there is still access to the old Microsoft account (or it can be recovered via the above steps), certifications can be consolidated to a preferred email/profile by linking accounts instead of transferring:
- Sign in to the Learn profile that currently holds the certifications.
- Add the new login account to that Learn profile using the “add login accounts to your Learn profile” process.
- After the new login is added, sign in with the new account to access the same Learn profile and its certifications.
If multiple Learn profiles exist under different logins and both are accessible, they can be merged by linking them as described in the profile management guidance. This consolidates certifications and training progress into a single profile.
For any remaining issues with missing or fragmented certifications (for example, if some exams are not visible after account linking), contact Microsoft Credentials Support and provide the available certificate PDFs and transcript details so support can review the records.
