I have an autopayment of $107.36 on a debit card that happened on May 23, 2026 that I would like stopped. The statement description says it was merchant code: 5818. When I go to our microsoft account it says we have not purchased anything in the last 3 months. I do know what we are getting charged for. . It happens every year and the amount keeps going up. I would like a refund and this autopayment to stop.

This forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access, if you are sure no-one else has access to your banking details, using any Microsoft account you may have, try using the steps they provide on this link to find out what that payment was for.

Then use the steps they provide on this link to cancel whatever that payment was for and get a refund (if applicable).

If you are still unable to resolve that payment problem, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option

Follow these steps to stop the charge and request a refund:

    1. Investigate what the charge is for
      • Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate for the unknown charge: Manage your payments.
      • Follow the flow described in How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft to see if it is:
        • A Microsoft subscription with recurring billing enabled,
        • A purchase made by someone else using the card,
        • A previously declined charge that was later processed, or
        • Another Microsoft Store or in-app purchase.
      • If there are multiple Microsoft accounts in the household, repeat this check for each account to ensure the charge is not tied to a different sign-in.
    2. Check subscriptions and turn off recurring billing
      • Sign in to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
      • For each Microsoft account used in the household, look for any active subscriptions (Microsoft 365, Xbox, Copilot Pro, OneDrive, etc.).
      • If an unwanted subscription is found:
        1. Select Manage.
        2. Select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel), then follow the prompts to cancel.
        3. If the goal is only to stop future charges, ensure recurring billing is turned off.
      • If Turn on recurring billing is shown instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and will not auto-renew.
    3. If the subscription was purchased through a third party
      • If investigation shows the charge is from a subscription purchased via a retailer such as Google Play, Apple, Amazon, or another third party, Microsoft cannot cancel or refund it.
      • In that case, contact the retailer directly to cancel and request a refund, following the guidance in Manage your Microsoft 365 subscription purchased through a third party.
    4. Request a refund from Microsoft (if applicable)
      • After identifying the subscription or order and cancelling it, use the Microsoft subscription refund guidance to check eligibility and request a refund: How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
      • For subscriptions like Copilot Pro or other Microsoft subscriptions, the refund depends on when cancellation occurs relative to the billing date and local refund rules.
    5. If the charge cannot be found in any Microsoft account
      • Use the steps in How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft to confirm whether the charge is actually from Microsoft.
      • If the charge does not appear under any Microsoft account and cannot be matched to a Microsoft order or subscription, treat it as a potentially unauthorized or non-Microsoft charge and contact the bank or card issuer to:
        • Dispute the transaction,
        • Block future similar charges, and
        • If necessary, issue a new card.

These steps will either identify and cancel the Microsoft subscription causing the annual debit, or confirm that the bank should handle it as an unauthorized or non-Microsoft charge.
