Cloud for Sustainability API will be deprecated on May 30, 2025. We're deprecating the preview of Cloud for Sustainability API. This decision is part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our offerings and focus on delivering enhanced sustainability solutions through existing platforms and solutions.

We understand that this change may affect your current workflows and processes. If you would like to continue to gather this information, you can onboard to Azure carbon optimization. We'll continue to monitor and maintain Cloud for Sustainability API during the deprecation period.

Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability provides APIs to access emissions data related to your Azure usage.

Accurate carbon accounting requires good information from partners, vendors, and suppliers. The Cloud for Sustainability APIs give you transparency on the carbon emissions generated by your usage of Azure. Microsoft’s carbon accounting extends across all three scopes of emissions with a third party-validated methodology. It uses consistent and accurate carbon accounting to quantify the effect of Microsoft cloud services on customers’ environmental footprint.
