Microsoft Sustainability Manager imports data from multiple sources. You can import data from most data sources with Power Query and Excel templates without any customizations. However, some proprietary data sources require special REST or other customizations. As a partner, you can extend Sustainability Manager by developing import connector extensions. You can then share the connectors privately with your customers or publicly through Microsoft AppSource.
Depending on your requirements, you can build a custom connector with one of these methods:
Prerequisites
You need the following prerequisites to build an import connector:
- Administrator and developer privileges
- Advanced knowledge of Power Platform extensibility mechanisms
- Advanced skills in developing solutions with Power Automate and/or Power Query templates
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability data model for the entities you’re importing
- An understanding of your data source structure and schema. Design the mapping from your data schema to the Cloud for Sustainability data model and identify Sustainability Manager entities that should be hydrated from your connector.
- An environment with Sustainability Manager installed
- A premium license for Power Automate if you're not using Sustainability Manager Premium
- Understand terminologies used in Sustainability Manager data import like connection, connection refresh, sustainability data definition
