Settings overview (Customer Conversation) (preview)

[This article is prerelease documentation and is subject to change.]

Agents powered by the Customer Conversation harness are part of a larger orchestration that can include multiple agents, such as connected agents and sub-agents. Instead of a per-agent settings dialog, the Customer Conversation harness uses a Shared Settings panel: settings you configure here apply across every agent in the orchestration, not just the agent you currently have open.

Access Shared Settings

  1. Open your agent in Copilot Studio, and select the Build tab.
  2. Select the gear icon or Shared Settings entry point to open the Shared Settings panel.

The panel is organized into the following tabs, listed in the left navigation:

Tab What it configures Learn more
Details Agent name and icon, Knowledge grounding toggles, and file processing capabilities. Configure agent details and security (Customer Conversation)
Security Agent authentication mode (how users sign in to all agents) and voice authentication (caller verification on voice channels). Configure agent details and security (Customer Conversation)
Language Primary and secondary languages for agent responses. Configure language settings (Customer Conversation)
Topics settings Natural language understanding (NLU) engine used during Topics conversations. Configure Topics settings (Customer Conversation)
Variables Custom and system variables shared across the orchestration. Configure variables (Customer Conversation)
Connections Connector bindings used by Topics or Tools. Configure connections (Customer Conversation)
Entities Custom and prebuilt entities shared across the orchestration. Configure entities (Customer Conversation)
Component collections Reusable component packages that multiple agents can use. Configure component collections (Customer Conversation)
Advanced Enhanced transcripts, sentiment analysis, solution info, Application Insights telemetry, and agent metadata. Configure advanced settings (Customer Conversation)

Note

Changes to settings take effect after you save. Some settings save automatically, indicated by a Saving… status in the panel header.
