As of April 1, 2026, some features that were previously only available with Teams Premium are now included with Teams Enterprise. Teams Premium continues to offer advanced meeting protection, advanced communication (like the Queues app), branding and personalization, and intelligence capabilities. Learn more.

To manage Teams Premium features, your tenant must have at least one active Teams Premium license.
This article provides an overview of licensing changes for Microsoft Teams events features as of April 1, 2026, and lists the events features included with Teams Enterprise that were previously part of Teams Premium.

Some of these features are currently being rolled out to Teams Enterprise and might not be available in your organization yet.
Town halls
Event organizers can elevate Teams town halls in your organization with the following key features:
100,000 attendees - Organizers can host interactive events for up to 3,000 attendees with engagement capabilities like reactions, raise hand, polls, and Q&A, and events for up to 10,000 attendees in a view-only experience (with Q&A). With an Attendee Capacity Pack, organizers can scale events up to 100,000 attendees.
We recommend using Teams Events Services for large events with more than 20,000 attendees. To learn more, see Plan for town halls.
Note
Organizers with an active Teams Premium license purchased before April 1, 2026, can continue to host events for up to 100,000 attendees until their current Teams Premium term ends.
After April 1, 2026, when your Teams Premium term expires, events with engagement capabilities that have more than 3,000 attendees and view-only events with more than 10,000 attendees require an Attendee Capacity Pack sized to the desired attendee capacity. To avoid disruption to large events, plan to purchase the appropriate attendee pack in advance.
Chat for town hall attendees - Organizers can allow attendees to use chat during town halls.
Custom emails for town halls - Organizers and co-organizers can customize the town hall email templates sent to attendees.
Attendee reactions, raise hand, and polls - Organizers can allow attendees to engage and provide feedback during a town hall with live reactions, and raise their hands to speak. Organizers can also create a poll during the event to get real-time feedback from attendees.
Microsoft eCDN - Optimize network performance for video streaming within an enterprise network. Microsoft eCDN allows millions of enterprise users around the world to communicate face-to-face efficiently and reliably. You can use the Microsoft eCDN or select one of our partner providers.
Ultra-Low Latency (ULL) streaming - With ULL, attendees can watch a town hall at a significantly reduced latency so they can be in sync with the presentation being shared and better engage with organizers and presenters.
1080p video resolution - Attendees can experience town halls in 1080p resolution for a more visually stunning experience. This feature requires using ULL.
Silent Test for town halls - Admins can simulate large-scale town hall events to test broadcast capabilities and network capacity.
Town hall insights - Organizers can monitor join and quality of the audio/video experience for their town hall attendees while they're live.
Real time monitoring of the attendee experience - You can use the eCDN analytics dashboard to troubleshoot the attendee experience during live town halls.
