When the component database contains newer revisions or versions of the components in a configuration, those components are marked with a special icon in the configuration editor in the Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, and can be upgraded. During the upgrade process, Windows XP Embedded Target Designer obtains the latest revisions and versions from the component database and replaces the existing components in the configuration with these new ones.
