Venue JSON class
Note
Bing Maps Web Control SDK retirement
Bing Maps Web Control SDK is deprecated and will be retired. Free (Basic) account customers can continue to use Bing Maps Web Control SDK until June 30th, 2025. Enterprise account customers can continue to use Bing Maps Web Control SDK until June 30th, 2028. To avoid service disruptions, all implementations using Bing Maps Web Control SDK will need to be updated to use Azure Maps Web SDK by the retirement date that applies to your Bing Maps for Enterprise account type. For detailed migration guidance, see Migrate from Bing Maps Web Control SDK and Migrate Bing Maps Enterprise applications to Azure Maps with GitHub Copilot.
Azure Maps is Microsoft's next-generation maps and geospatial services for developers. Azure Maps has many of the same features as Bing Maps for Enterprise, and more. To get started with Azure Maps, create a free Azure subscription and an Azure Maps account. For more information about azure Maps, see Azure Maps Documentation. For migration guidance, see Bing Maps Migration Overview.
Encapsulates a venue, consisting of one or more floors.
Data that adheres to this JSON format can be displayed in the Bing Maps V8 Web Control by creating a VenueMap instance with VenueMapFactory.create.
Properties
Property | Type | Req? | Description |
---|---|---|---|
id | string | ✔ | A unique identifier of the venue. |
isGeoPositioned | boolean | Whether this venue, once its coordinates are transformed, has geopositioned longitude, latitude values or engineering coordinates. | |
defaultCulture | string | The culture that is used when a string has an empty culture or if this value is not specified, en-us is used as the default. | |
name | culture:string | Dictionary of culture-specific names for the venue where empty string for the key refers to the culture identified by the defaultCulture property. | |
xy | number[] | An X,Y coordinate that, once transform is applied, defines a central location for the venue. | |
address | address | ||
phone | string | The phone number for the venue. | |
defaultFloor | integer | The index of the floor to display as default, where the lowest floor is 1. | |
bbox | number[] | A set of coordinates (bottom, left, top, right) that, once transform is applied, define the geographical area of the venue. | |
floors | floor | ✔ | A list of the floors that comprise the venue, starting with the footprint floor which is shown at every floor, and proceeding from the bottom of the venue upward. |
transform | number[] | A 3x3 matrix that, if provided, will be applied to each of the coordinates in the venue. This will typically take coordinates from engineering coordinates to geopositioned ones. |
The Footprint Floor
The first (0) entry in the floors array is a special floor that is not part of floor selection, but instead contains geometry that is shown with every floor. This primarily consists of the footprint geometry, but could contain other geometry like outdoor fountains.
The Transform Field
The matrix contained in the transform field is expected to be applied to any coordinate (venue.xy, geometry.x and y, etc.) using a method like this one:
public Point Transform(Point point)
{
return new Vector2D(
point.X * transform[0] + point.Y * transform[1] + transform[2],
point.X * transform[3] + point.Y * transform[4] + transform[5]);
}
Example
