Suddenly after several years, I cannot retrieve or send Yahoo email in Outlook. I get error code 800CCC0E-0-0-733. When I test the connection in Windows email - it works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office 365, I have deleted the email and reset it up in Windows, but the I continue to get the same error. The email functions correctly on my phone and web based interfaces, but not to Outlook.

    Hello

Many users seem to have this issue recently. Microsoft is still investigating this issue. The current workaround is published here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/users-get-errors-0x800ccc0e-0x800ccc0f-synchronizing-gmail-and-yahoo-accounts-in-classic-outlook-e5a7b684-7c5c-4848-ab2d-d48291451f67

Follow these steps in classic Outlook to troubleshoot Yahoo sync failures like error 800CCC0E-0-0-733:

    1. Confirm internet connectivity
      • Open a browser (for example, Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome).
      • Browse to http://www.microsoft.com or http://www.bing.com.
      • If these sites do not load, resolve the Windows network issue first by following Fix network connection issues in Windows.
    2. Check for general Outlook send/receive issues
      • In classic Outlook, verify whether other accounts (if any) can send/receive.
      • If nothing sends or receives, follow the classic Outlook steps from the “I can't send or receive messages in Outlook” guidance:
        • Make sure the password in Outlook matches the Yahoo account password or app password.
        • If the Yahoo password was changed recently on the web, update it in Outlook as well.
    3. Verify password / app password for Yahoo
      • If Yahoo uses two-step verification or app passwords, Outlook must use the Yahoo app password instead of the normal sign-in password.
      • When Outlook prompts for a password, paste the Yahoo app password there.
      • If Outlook shows a message like “Please create an app password for Outlook on your email provider's site,” follow Yahoo’s instructions to generate that app password, then re-enter it in Outlook.
    4. Check for sync issues and force a manual sync
    5. Check antivirus email scanning
      • Some antivirus products scan email and can block connections after they detect a problem.
      • Temporarily disable email scanning in the antivirus (not the entire antivirus, if possible) and test Outlook again.
      • If email works after disabling scanning, consult the antivirus vendor’s help desk for a permanent configuration that allows Outlook to connect.
    6. Repair Outlook and the Outlook profile
    7. Start Outlook in safe mode to rule out add-ins
      • Press the Windows key, type outlook.exe /safe, and press Enter.
      • Test send/receive with Yahoo in safe mode.
      • If it works in safe mode, an add-in is likely causing the problem. Disable add-ins and test again; if needed, keep using a fresh profile as recommended in Create an Outlook profile.

If the Yahoo account continues to work on the web and on the phone but not in Outlook after these steps, focus on the Outlook profile (step 6) and add-ins (step 7), as those are the most common Outlook-side causes once connectivity and credentials are confirmed.
