Microsoft knows I bought the game but when I go to launch it, it says "Content failed to load" plus when I look up the game on X Box it says I can buy the game even tho I already bought it so I can't install it.

    Hello Nate Padilla,

    Thanks for replying.

If that is the case, can you please try to create another user profile and try to download the game there to see if the issue persists?

If that doesn't help, you can also consider this step.

    • Type "Credentials Manager" in the search bar and press Enter.
    • Find and remove all entries:
      • Contains "Xbl"
      • Related to the affected account.
      • Related to the affected apps.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Try again, if you still try to download from the web, please try to open InPrivate mode.

The behavior indicates a Microsoft Store/Xbox entitlement or installation issue rather than a new purchase requirement. Use these steps in order on the Windows PC where Forza 6 is installed or being installed:

    1. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
      1. Press Windows key + R.
      2. Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
      3. A blank Command Prompt opens; after about 10 seconds it closes and Microsoft Store opens automatically.
      4. Try launching or reinstalling Forza 6 again.
    2. Reset the Microsoft Store app
      1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
      2. Find Microsoft Store, select the three dots → Advanced options.
      3. Select Reset.
      4. Restart the PC.
      5. Open Microsoft Store and confirm the account used is the same one that owns Forza 6.
      6. Try installing/launching the game again.
    3. Verify typical Store visibility/installation blockers Check the following if the game still shows as “Buy” or fails to load content:
      1. Region: Ensure Windows region matches the country/region where the game was purchased; some apps/games are not available in all regions.
      2. Family settings: If using a child account, confirm Microsoft family settings are not hiding or blocking the game.
      3. Availability: Some titles are removed from Microsoft Store; if Forza 6 has been delisted, it may no longer be installable from the Store even if previously owned.
      4. Compatibility: Confirm the device meets requirements and is compatible; Store hides or blocks incompatible apps.
      5. Recent updates: If Windows was recently updated, restart the PC before installing apps.
      6. Device authorization: Ensure the PC/Xbox is added to and authorized with the same Microsoft account that owns the game. See Add a device to your Microsoft account / Manage your devices for Microsoft Store in the referenced docs.
    4. Reinstall from Library/Order history
      1. On Windows 10/11, open the Microsoft Store library: See more → My Library.
      2. Locate the game; if a Download icon appears, select it to reinstall.
      3. Alternatively, sign in to Order history with the owning account and select Product key/Install or Install for the game if available.

If, after these steps, the game still shows as purchasable and “Content failed to load,” contact Xbox/Forza support with details of the purchase (from Order history) and the exact error text so they can check entitlements and game availability.
