CAPI2 errors

Anonymous
2010-07-11T17:17:29+00:00

I've been getting these errors since Power-up this morning. I've made no changes since yesterday. I've tried system restore, Image restore, sfc /scannow, removed Ready-Boost USB flash drive and can't find anything wrong. I get one error at PUP, and another error when I check Mail with Live-beta, another error for every message from Forums, and another error every time I enter Forums.

I have two machines, both 64-bit windows 7 that are getting these annoying error.  Both started at 11:57am CDT on July 11th.  Both have the same invalid timestamp failure.

I have noticed that searches on this turn up stuff from last year... on July 11th 2009...

My thread on this matter got a reply from Microsoft support saying "Disable reporting and ignore the error.  It's perfectly normal."

    ...

    I also have this capi2 error "

    http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab
A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.

on 3 different operating systems on my pc and its super annoying.. I hope microsoft fixes the certificate or at least tells us how to do it! Been getting the errors since Sunday the 11th

The 11th is the exact time my errors started. Although it doesn't really affect my system performance, I'd like to take some pride in keeping my system free of errors.

My understanding is that it is a certificate date error from Microsoft that will be fixed.

This is correct. Users in the german forums have this too. Mostly on 64Bit Windows versions.
