CAPI2 errors

Anonymous
2010-07-11T17:17:29+00:00

I've been getting these errors since Power-up this morning. I've made no changes since yesterday. I've tried system restore, Image restore, sfc /scannow, removed Ready-Boost USB flash drive and can't find anything wrong. I get one error at PUP, and another error when I check Mail with Live-beta, another error for every message from Forums, and another error every time I enter Forums.

My errors stopped after the 16th, but I also just noticed that CAPI2, Certificate Services Client, and CertPolEng have all been disabled. I didn't disable them and they must have been working when the CAPI2 errors were being set, right?

Ditto.  I did a new win7 install on the 10th, and these errors started happening on the 11th around 3am here.  Then on the 12th and 13th, but not again until the 20th.

Luckily each time there are many the win7 log cuts them off ("Reached crypt32 threshold of 50 events and will suspend logging for 60 minutes.") lol

So apparently ms screwed up their certs and is taking their sweet time fixing the issue (what else is new).

A few months back I found a way to use the 'Command Prompt' to disable Windows from checking the certificates but now I can't find it for the life of me. If anyone finds the code to do this, please let me know.

I can verify that my errors started on the July 11th as well.  I hate operating under the assumption that it is a non-issue and can be ignored.
