Here is what worked for me:
- Log in with an Administrator account
- Stop the following services via Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services:
- Application Experience
- Background Intelligent Transfer Service
- Windows Store Service (WSService)
- Windows Update
- Once those services are stopped, open up Windows Explorer
- Go to: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
- Delete the contents of this folder
- Restart the following services via Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services:
- Application Experience
- Background Intelligent Transfer Service
- Windows Store Service (WSService)
- Windows Update
- OR -
Restart your machine 7. Head over to Windows Store and everything should work. Also run Windows Update as it will need to rebuild its 'check list' of patches.
I hope this helps some of you folks out there.
Cheers,
Mike
