This service is consuming 15-20% CPU All the time (but never beyond 25%) on my laptop (Dell XPS 15 7590) & its very annoying becuase this triggers fan noise even while doing minimal tasts on my computer & also consumes battery life

I have referred to other posts around the forum and have already tried the following CMD commands

Sfc.exe /scannow

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Any help would be much apreciated, TIA

Rob, its back again, just with a different name I just saw it now, up till today there were no problems.

Strange thing is that I haven't installed any new softwares & there haven't been any recent update installs.

Only thing in can think of is mcafee running an automatic antivirus scan, don't know if that's just a coincidence though.

I'm replying the hopes this thread gains more traction again because I'm having the exact same issues. Mohsin, has anything helped since the time of this last post? The issue is literally happening to me right now.

    Hi  all!

I am facing the same problem, I first notice it with upgrade to 1909 version of Windows. However, I noticed tnat custom firewall software, in my case Windows Firewall Control, can be messing with the service.

When I shut it down, the service once again started, and after that, it stays off.

Can someone tell if you use any custom firewall and what happens if it is uninstalled?

    Thanks

    Tade

I decided to reset Windows, and the problem is gone.

I have this exact same problem on my Dell XPS 13 9360. I clean installed windows and the same problem occurred 5 days later (today).

It is annoying because if I disable the process I can no longer use the Your Phone app.

    Someone please help!
