Getting a Microsoft Visual C++ debug assertion error whenever I try to install anything Nvidia related.

Whenever I attempt to update my Nvidia drivers or even install any Nvidia programs such as GeForce, I get this error and don't know what to do:

Debug Assertion Failed!

Program:

...splayDriver/551.76/Win11_Win10-DCH_64/International/setup.exe

File: f:/dd/vctools/vc7libs/ship/atlmfc/include/atlexcept.h

Line: 95

Expression: false

I have already attempted to delete, repair and reinstall Visual C++ with no success

Update: I managed to "fix" this issue by factory resetting my PC through the recovery menu and I backed up all important data on an external hard drive as well.

I hope someone figures out a less drastic way to solve this, especially should the issue return.

To anyone trying to reinstall windows, I could not get my PC to open any of the windows 11 download files, so this was out of the question for me but if you can get it to work, then it should fix the issue.

I tried the windows update "Repair" reinstallation of windows, and that didn't work. I'd really rather avoid a full reset if I can.

It eventually took a clean install of windows. Created an ISO file on a laptop and ran the install. Repair from disk didn't work, so clean install it was. Backed most everything up on M.2s and no issues since.

Just started having this issue the other day while trying to update my graphics card. Would love to know the issue, has anyone discovered anything yet other than a fresh windows install?

Nope, had to do a fresh install myself as I was out of options.
