Server Error A server error occurred. Please try again. [2605]

A couple of days ago, I noticed that my emails stopped synching in my outlook mobile app. I tried to log out/in and was greeted with the following message:

"Server Error A server error occurred. Please try again. [2605]"

I get this error with every outlook account, on wifi and mobile data, and in web browsers as well. I have another phone and tablet which the app is working perfectly fine.

I have tried essentially every solution that's posted when you search for this error:

  • Turned off wifi
  • Manually added 365 account
  • Cleared cache and data
  • Allowed all permissions
  • Uninstalled/reinstalled outlook
  • Ran phone system update

Any help would be much appreciated.

    • May I please also know if the affected device is managed via Intune?
    • Could you please provide us with the screenshot of the error message?

I look forward to your update. Kindly note that the above requested information is required for further analysis and troubleshooting of your situation. Your patience and cooperation are much appreciated.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    No MS Authenticator or Intune.

Two screenshots attached. One from mobile app, one from web browser.

My web browser problem started last Friday. Once I log out of an email, it won't let me log back in. The error is on every browser. GoDaddy said they're aware of an MS outage and have been working to resolve it since Monday.

This app problem started Tuesday afternoon, and GoDaddy says it's unrelated to the ongoing browser issue.

    Dear TRLLC,

Many thanks for your kind response,

Typically, the error message you're seeing indicates that there is a problem with the server that your app is trying to connect to. This could be due to a temporary outage or maintenance on the server. Therefore, we may need to wait until the issue you mentioned is resolved.

In the meantime, you may try to reset your network settings on your phone. This can be done by going to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then, check if there is any difference.

    • Tyr to re-install the app directly from the play store and check if the issue persists.

I look forward to your update. Please feel free to let me know how it goes or if I got you wrong. If you still have any concerns, please let me know so I can provide more suggestions.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,
