Server Error A server error occurred. Please try again. [2605]

A couple of days ago, I noticed that my emails stopped synching in my outlook mobile app. I tried to log out/in and was greeted with the following message:

"Server Error A server error occurred. Please try again. [2605]"

I get this error with every outlook account, on wifi and mobile data, and in web browsers as well. I have another phone and tablet which the app is working perfectly fine.

I have tried essentially every solution that's posted when you search for this error:

  • Turned off wifi
  • Manually added 365 account
  • Cleared cache and data
  • Allowed all permissions
  • Uninstalled/reinstalled outlook
  • Ran phone system update

Any help would be much appreciated.

Okta is also my top candidate for the trouble ... let me see if getting rid of the Okta app does fix it. Okta just seems to insert itself everywhere it possibly can ;)

This worked for me as well. I uninstalled every Microsoft app on my phone as I was also having issues with the authenticator app. Once I did that, I was able to fix the authenticator app issue as well as all of the other app issues with the error of 2605

I had the same problem with my work email on my personal android phone.

To cure the issue I closed everything down and rebooted the phone. After the reboot I went straight into Company Portal and it told me that I needed to reregister my device. I hit the button to do this and it cured the issue!

The closing of apps and the reboot may not have been required. But that's what I did.

    Good luck!
