When I tried logging onto my account via web (https://office.microsoft.com/), the site said there was a problem, and to click "refresh".  I tried logging onto the site from two different machines

  • one of them Office was already activated.

I tried again the next day form my machine Office was activated, and the site was working fine.  Tried to activate Office on the second machine and this time it went through.  Verified the site, and it now listed both machines

My guess is, it was the activation site that had problems for that one day.

Everything is working fine now.
