    Hi Steven,

    Thanks for your reply.

To have a deep understanding about your scenario, please share with me the following info:

    1. The detailed steps that you created this query.
    2. Which database you are using.
    3. What have you changed before this issue happens? (Except change channel)

    Thanks,

    Neo

    Hi Neo,

    here are the steps,

    1. Open Excel, go to Data -> Get data -> From Online services -> From Sharepoint online list.
    2. Sharepoint online list.
    3. Nothing changed.

    Regards

    Hi Steven,

Since your Office is not the latest version 1711(8730.2165), I’d like to suggest you update your Office to the latest version to see the outcome.

If you can edit query, to check whether this issue is related to add-ins, please open your file in safe mode(Hold CTRL key and click your workbook) to see the outcome. If you can edit your query in safe mode, you can click File>Options>Add-ins to uncheck add-ins one by one to check which one caused this issue.

If you still can’t edit query, I’d like to suggest you repair your Office to check if this issue still exists. You can follow the steps to do that:

    1. Type this address Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features in File Explorer to find your program list.
    2. Right-click Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus>click change>Quick Repair.
    3. Click Online Repair if this issue still exists.

Besides, if this issue persists after Office repair, I’d like to suggest you Completely uninstall Office 2016 with the easy fix tool and then reinstall it.

Please have a try and share with me your result.

    Thanks,

    Neo

    Hi Neo,

I updated to the latest version, I can edit the query if it connected to a SQL database, but I still can not edit when it connects to Sharepoint online list.

Information has been removed according to Privacy Policy.

    conneced to database.

    connected to Sharepoint list.

    Hi Steven,

To check whether this issue is related to your list, please create a new list, then let a workbook connect to it to see the outcome.

If this issue doesn't persist, that means this issue is related to list. I'd like to suggest you recreate this list.

If this issue still exists, to give you a further support, please share with me some info about your tenant. To protect your privacy, please send me your related info via Private Message.

    Thanks,

    Neo
