    Hi Steven,

Thanks for your reply to Private Message.

Do you mean that you install the latest 1712 (Build 8827.2148) of Office in a new computer and still can't edit query? If so, please also share with me the  fiddler logs of old version.

As a workaround, I'd like to suggest you get logs from the computer still keep the old version. If it is not easily for you to do that, please follow this article to deploy specific version of Office: Overview of the Office 2016 Deployment Tool, Configuration XML Editor(Modify the Office you want to download).

    Thanks,

    Neo

    Hi Steven,

Can you edit your query now? If not, please share with me the fiddler logs of old version.

    Hi Steven,

We tested multiple Office Channels, and found that the "Edit Query" button is always clickable. Please check the following scenarios and let us know if it is the cause:

    a. The button is grayed out if we click Data tab > Existing Connections button > right click the connection > edit connection properties > choose Definition tab in the pop-up window.

    b. But if we click Data tab > Queries & connections > right click the connection on the new left window > select properties > choose Definition tab in the pop-up window, then we are able to click the "Edit Query" button.

In addition, we also checked Office insider channel Version 1801(Build 9001.2089). This version of Excel provides a new powerful user interface for connecting to a datasource and it will easily pop-up the Edit Query window. So you can also just wait for that version to be released.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

    Thank you.

I can do what you did. But that is now what I want to do.

I need to edit command text, please see my previously post.

And when the new version will be released?

    Regards

    Steven
