Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

May I please know which audio output device is selected as the default in the System Sound settings? Go to Start > Settings > System > Sounds > Choose your default audio output device.

Make sure your headphones are selected.

If your headphones aren't in the list,

Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooter> Bluetooth and select Run.

Once the troubleshooter is finished running, restart your computer and pair your headphones again.

    Another method,

    • Disconnect/remove your headphones from the Bluetooth devices list.
    • Then go to Device Manager and expand the Bluetooth section.
    • Right-click your generic Bluetooth driver, such as Realtek (R) or Intel (R) Bluetooth driver, select Uninstall device > Select 'Attempt to remove the driver software for this device' check box, and click Uninstall.
    • Once uninstalled, restart your computer and pair your Bluetooth headphones.
    • Set it as the default audio output device.

    See if it is working.

Try these steps on Windows 11 to fix Bluetooth buds/headphones with no sound:

    1. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter
      • Open the Get Help app and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter. It will automatically check and fix common Bluetooth audio issues.
      • Use this if Bluetooth is connected but silent or unstable.
    2. Check sound output and volume
      • Click the Sound icon on the taskbar and make sure the Bluetooth buds/headphones are selected as the output device.
      • Or go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Output, choose the Bluetooth device.
      • Make sure volume is not muted and is turned up.
    3. Reconnect Bluetooth
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Turn Bluetooth off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on again.
      • If still no sound, in Bluetooth & devices, find the audio device, select More options (…) > Remove device.
      • Then select Add device and pair the buds/headphones again.
    4. Set high‑quality audio format
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
      • Select the Bluetooth audio device, then select Advanced sound properties (device must be connected to see this).
      • Under Output settings, set Format to 2 channels, 16 bit, 48000Hz (DVD Quality).
    5. Update Bluetooth drivers
      • Open Device Manager (select Start > Device Manager).
      • Expand Bluetooth, right‑click the Bluetooth adapter (may include “radio”), choose Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
      • Finish the wizard, then restart the PC if prompted.
    6. Check A2DP support
      • Make sure the buds/headphones support the A2DP profile (check device documentation or manufacturer site). Devices without A2DP may not play stereo audio from Windows.
    7. Install Windows Updates and restart
      • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update.
      • Select Check for updates and install anything available.
      • Restart the PC from Start > Power > Restart and test Bluetooth audio again.

If sound still does not work after these steps, test with another Bluetooth headset to see if the issue is with the PC or the original buds.
