    Hi Stephanie Marquardt,

I understand how frustrating it must be to keep receiving automated options when you are trying to explain an unusual issue to a real support agent.

To make sure I understand the situation correctly, when you mention an unexpected email, do you mean a message that appeared in Outlook without being created or sent by you? If so, could you please clarify:

    • Which folder does it appear in: Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, or Deleted Items?
    • Is it an actual message that you can open, or only an entry shown in the message list?
    • If you delete it, does it return after you restart or refresh New Outlook?
    • Are you using a personal Outlook.com account or a work or school account?

If possible, please share a screenshot of the affected message, but make sure to hide your email address and any other personal information before posting it publicly.

You can also try contacting Microsoft Support through the Microsoft Support contact page. Sign in with an accessible Microsoft account, describe the issue, and select Contact Support if that option becomes available.

If the Support Assistant appears, enter a short request such as: “I need to speak with a live support agent.”

The available contact options may vary by account, product, region, and support hours, so a live-chat option may not always appear. You can also check Help > Support directly in New Outlook if that option is available for your account.

Once you provide the folder, account type, and what happens when you delete the message, the issue should be easier to narrow down as a stuck draft, a synchronization problem, or another type of automatically generated message. Thank you so much for your understanding.

For Outlook.com and Microsoft account issues, the supported path to reach a human is live chat support.

    1. Go to the Microsoft support contact page and start with Get Help on the web or Sign in to contact support.
    2. Sign in with a personal Microsoft account that is still accessible. If the affected account cannot be used, use another personal Microsoft account.
    3. In the support flow, enter Contact Support or Live chat.
    4. For Product and services, select Other Products.
    5. For Category, select Billing and Account Profile questions or Manage Account Security.
    6. Choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser.

If the issue is specifically in Outlook.com, another path is:

    1. Sign in to Outlook.com.
    2. Select Help on the menu bar.
    3. Enter the issue.
    4. If self-help does not solve it, scroll to Still need help? and select Yes.

For Microsoft account sign-in problems, use the Start sign-in helper tool first. It checks the sign-in details and tells what action is needed. Microsoft support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or directly change account details.

Do not file false spam or phishing reports just to get attention. Use the support and chat paths above instead.
