These dates reflect when we plan to make the release available for you to update manually for testing purposes. They also show when we plan to automatically update sandbox and production environments. If you want to update an environment manually, you can refer to Manage Dynamics 365 apps in the Power Platform documentation.

In general, updates start releasing around the first of the month with a staggered rollout to different countries/regions. Some updates aren't available until later in the month. Occasionally, we might have to delay availability or updates for one or more regions to a future date.

Calculation model naming

You can now set the Calculation model name using a field on the top of the model configuration experience, and it's independent from the name of the first calculation node.

Track your social and governance data (preview)

The social and governance metric library is built directly into Microsoft Sustainability Manager under the Data > Social (preview) & Governance (preview) tabs. Alternatively, it can be found under External reporting > Concepts . The social and governance metrics in this library help you with:

  • Comprehensive ESG insights

  • Regulatory compliance

  • Critical social and governance aspects to guide company operations

  • Risk management

Additionally, when using the Essentials or Premium licenses, you may analyze your social and governance metrics through a lightweight Power BI dashboard under Analytics > Social and governance (preview).

For more information, see Track your social and governance data (preview)

Data collection in Microsoft Sustainability Manager (preview)

The public preview release of the data collection feature in Microsoft Sustainability Manager enables you to collect carbon activity data directly from data owners by creating data requests and sending email notifications. With this new feature, you can collect ESG data from further upstream sources to track and reduce your organization's overall ESG impact.

For more information, see Data collection in Microsoft Sustainability Manager (preview)

Private preview of new product carbon footprint capabilities in Microsoft Sustainability Manager

We're releasing a private preview of new allocations capabilities in Microsoft Sustainability Manager. This feature allows you to calculate product carbon footprints within Microsoft Sustainability Manager.

If you're interested in participating in the Microsoft Sustainability Manager: Product carbon footprint calculation preview program, fill out the Preview sign-up form.

Updates to IEA 2022 Emission Factors

We made corrections to IEA 2022 emission factors to ensure alignment with the IEA 2022 dataset and guidelines:

- Assessment Report (AR) alignment: Previously, raw factor values were derived using AR4. However, since the IEA 2022 was published using AR6, the raw values for CO₂, CH₄, and N₂O now reflect AR6 GWP-derived values.

- Increased precision for CH₄ and N₂O: The precision for CH₄ and N₂O values is improved from three and six decimal places respectively to nine decimal places, reducing rounding errors in calculations.

- Corrected IEA 2022 values: The emission factors were previously reflecting 2021 revised values instead of the actual 2022 values and is now corrected in the update.

You don't have to reinstall the IEA 2022 package to apply these changes. However, any calculations that previously used IEA 2022 factors must be recalculated to ensure consistency with the updated values.

Fixes

Improved reliability of data import scheduling

We resolved an issue where monthly scheduled data imports would execute at incorrect times instead of following the user-defined schedule. Previously, imports would run earlier than their configured dates without any changes to the schedule settings. The fix ensures that scheduled imports now consistently execute on their specified dates, providing better reliability and adherence to user-configured schedules.

Enhanced activity data traceability in data trail reports

We resolved an issue where emission records in Data Trail reports lacked visibility of associated activity data when using the 'All' sources filter. Previously, key activity data fields including 'Quantity', 'Quantity Unit', and other activity-related information were missing. With this fix, the Data Trail report now properly displays all relevant activity data associated with emission records, providing improved traceability and meeting report requirements.

Complete GHG values for Defra 2023 Factors

We addressed an issue where some factor records in the Defra 2023 - Waste Disposal library were missing greenhouse gas (GHG) values, even though the factor package was correctly installed. This fix ensures that all factors in the Defra 2023 package now contain their complete set of required GHG values.
