Set up Microsoft Syntex
This article covers the initial setup experience for Microsoft Syntex content AI features. Before following the steps in this article, configure your billing and licensing options as follows:
- If you are using Microsoft Syntex pay-as-you-go, follow the steps in Configure Microsoft Syntex for pay-as-you-go billing in Azure.
- If you are using per-user licensing, follow the steps in Set up Microsoft Syntex per-user licensing.

Requirements
You must have Global admin or SharePoint admin permissions to be able to access the Microsoft 365 admin center and set up Microsoft Syntex.
As an admin, you can also make changes to your selected settings anytime in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Set up Microsoft Syntex services
In the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Setup, and then view the Files and content section.
In the Files and content section, select Use content AI with Microsoft Syntex.
On the Use content AI with Microsoft Syntex page, select Manage Microsoft Syntex.
Select the Microsoft Syntex service that you want to set up.
Choose the options that you want to use, and then select Save.
