For security and privacy reasons, subscriptions and billing plans cannot be canceled directly through community forum. Changes to Microsoft 365 or Office subscriptions must be completed by the account’s Global or Billing Administrator.
If you are the account administrator, you can follow the steps here to cancel all active plans:
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center > Billing > Licenses, then selecting the license you want to cancel.
- Choose Manage subscription details
- Under Subscription status > choose Cancel subscription
- If you’re unable to cancel the subscription on your own, you can create a support request through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center by selecting Help & Support in the bottom‑right corner and following the guidance in Get support for Microsoft 365 for business.
- Alternatively, you may contact Microsoft Support by phone using the numbers listed here: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. When calling, request to be connected to the Billing team, provide your admin details, and ask for assistance with canceling any active subscriptions.
Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:
(When you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.)
In some countries, it is an automated conversation like:
IVR: What kind of problem are you concerned about?
You: Cancel subscription.
IVR: What kind of product do you use?
You: Office 365 for business.
IVR confirmation: education or company account?
You: For companies
IVR: Are you an administrator?
You: Yes.
IVR: Do you have another administrator in your organization?
You: No.
IVR: Do you need a... Service request?
You: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me direct to the Billing Team.
If you are not the administrator, you can contact the Global or Billing Admin for your organization and ask them to cancel the subscriptions on your behalf.
