In Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, you can narrow the list of components displayed in the component browser by applying a component filter to the browser. The default filter is All Components, which displays all of the components in the component database.
A component filter is a collection of rules that specify which components to display in the component browser. Rules can be used individually in a filter, or they can be combined with AND and OR in a filter to create stricter criteria that result in a smaller list of components.
Component Filters are stored as .flt files in the Windows Embedded directory, and can be shared. The default storage location is \Program Files\Windows Embedded\filters.
