Windows Server 2019 Standard Edition Activation Error

Hello, community,

Please assist, I keep getting error code 0x80072ee2 when I try to activate windows server 2019, i have tried using the GUI as well as the command line using DISM. The server has Hyper V configured and two of the VMs are already activated using the same license key. When I try activating the host, I get that error, I have tried troubleshooting from the GUI but it says windows cannot activate the system.

Hello,
The error code 0x80072ee2 is usually indicative of a timeout happening. I would look at the network connection, proxy setting etc.
As DSPatrick states Phone activation should work

Error code 0x80072ee2 stands for operation timed out. There might be a problem with your network connection. We could try phone activation by

• Run slmgr /dti and then record your installation ID
  
• Contact the Microsoft Licensing Activation Centers and provide the Installation ID in order to receive a Confirmation ID.
• Run slmgr /atp <Confirmation ID> to activate.

In addition, your license might be invalid after having activated two VMs, please visit Microsoft License Terms to ensure that your activation is in accordance with End User Licensing Terms.
