In MS Teams, how can we have a Team or a Channel where we do not add any users, but, it is available to all users in our company to join without any approval?

Hi @frob

You can create Public Team to create a team where your members can join without team owner's approval.

To do it

1. click Join or create a team
2. click Create Team
3. choose a option to create a team
4. choose Public

and those Public team will be visible to the members of the organization when people click Join or create a team menu and they can join the team without approval if they want to

If you want to change the type of the existing team from private to public, you can do so.

1. click ... menu next to team name
2. click Edit team
3. change Privacy to public and click Done button.

To create a Team or Channel in MS Teams where anyone in your company can join without approval, you can follow these steps:

1. Create a new Team or Channel as you normally would.
2. Click on the three dots next to the Team or Channel name and select "Manage team" or "Manage channel".
3. In the "Settings" tab, scroll down to "Member permissions" and select "Everyone" for the "Allow everyone to post messages" option.
4. In the "Settings" tab, scroll down to "Member permissions" and select "Everyone except guests" for the "Allow members to invite" option. This will allow anyone in your company to join the Team or Channel without approval, and they will be able to post messages and invite others as well.
