How to access the azure file share using custom domain from outside VM such as VPN connected device

I created the custom domain to access the azure file share. It is worked as well only in Azure VM it means able to access the Azure File share. But could not access the outside VM such as VPN Connected device. Another problem is when I access the URL directly from VM file explorer does not work, once I mount then it can be accessed. so please let me know your suggestions for following questions.
#1. How to access the azure file share using custom domain from file explorer UNC path without mount...?
#2. How to access the azure file share using custom domain from outside VM such as VPN connected device...?

Is the File share connected over a private link? Suspect your issue with VPN devices is the DNS resolution going to the public (not private endpoint).
The mounting maybe required, due to permissions on the Azure File share needed. It is AD joined, or just AAD?

2023-09-20T19:49:48.88+00:00 Ok, so the computer you are connected it, to is also AD joined and has a line of site to the Azure File share, or its going over the Internet? If this is the case, then mounting is allowing you to authenticate with your AD credentials; just opening up the UNC path, isn't enough, I expect the UNC path will work if you have line of sight to the Azure Fileshare on the private network of the Azure File Share, via Azure Private Link, otherwise its routing over the internet.
