We have migrated our mailboxes to exchange online using a hybrid deployment. We have a few mailboxes that we need to leave on-prem. We still have the 2013 on-prem servers. We will move the mailboxes to the 2019 hybrid server. I am in the process of adding another hybrid server. At this point I just want to get exchange 2019 installed and not run the HCW just yet. Will installing exchange cause any issues with my current setup? Thank you.

    Hi @ mara2021,

If you add only one Exchange Server 2019 to your existing environment, it will not affect the hybrid configuration between Exchange 2013 and exchange online, as well as mail flow.

You need to manually configure the following settings:

    1. Configure virtual directories for Exchange 2019
    2. Switch the DNS record from Exchange 2013 to point to Exchange 2019
    3. Rerun the hybrid wizard and select the 2019 server as the endpoint.
