Azure B2C Update Password time out with Microsoft Graph API

Question

We are using Custom Policy to update password as part of Forgot Password flow and using the default AD technical profile to update the same, but we are seeing many timeouts during that operation for around 1.7 mins as default httpclient timeout is 100 seconds. We can increase the timeout using Custom Policy but that want to understand what can be root cause for high response time.
