The action function when closing the lid stopped working

Hi, very strange problem, made an Intune configuration for Windows and after applying it, the action when closing the lid stops working. This functionality is configured, it is applied, there are no conflicts, you can see in Windows that the parameter is set correctly, right now it is sleep. But as soon as you close the lid, the screen goes blank, lift it up and there is no sleep or lock screen. Setting the shutdown also does not give any results. There were attempts to use powershell, oma-uri to force action setting, the function is set in the control panel, but the action does not happen. Can you tell me what the problem may be? I attach the configuration file.

It should work like this: I close the lid-sleep/lock the screen to enter the password.

    Hello Bill Line,

Looking at your description looks like the issue happens even when applied manually. The better way to troubleshoot this would be as follows,

    1. Do not apply Intune policy to the device.
    2. Configure manually from control panel and set lid close setting to sleep.
    3. See if the issue persists.

If yes, there could be a problem with the device that you need to check.

    1. Confirm if the required drivers are up to date
    2. Make sure your device is not connected to external hardware like docking stations while testing this.
    3. Check event logs
    4. Check on another device
    5. Check if BIOS is not outdated

Contact Windows support if required from here: Meet Windows 11 - Microsoft Support

But, if it worked fine from the above test, you could confirm the following,

    1. If there are any GPO or local configurations that might cause conflicts.
    2. Check IME logs and confirm if the policy is applied correctly.

If the above doesn't help, contact Intune support to troubleshoot further. Get support in the Microsoft Intune admin center - Microsoft Intune | Microsoft Learn
