Can Visual Studio Community work with a mapped OneDrive

On our network, I map users OneDrives so they appear as a network drive.

We've been using Visual Studio 2019 like this for a while and it has worked great, however, now, we can open files and run them, but if you change and save, then it makes you 'Save As' as the file is in use.

I've tried an upgrade to Visual Studio 2022 and that won't even let me create a new project in the cloud space due to 'Illegal Characters'.

I'm now a bit stuck! Cloud is the way forward so I really think this should work

Many Thanks
Steve

    Hi @Stephen Hope

I want to help you, but your issue is also related to Visual Studio Community, I suggest you post a new thread in: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/index.html?q=Visual+Studio+Community, see if any users with relevant experience can give you suggestions there.

    Thanks for your understanding.

The following is my personal opinion, OneDrive is not designed for this kind of real-time file handling by IDEs. For OneDrive mapped drives, there aren't many settings to control OneDrive sync.
