Hi

Is there any way with Microsoft Edge I can take my MSA profile (personal) and bring it into my ((Work) Office 365 work account?

So this would be passwords and collections etc?

Into the work profile

Thanks
Ward

    Hi @Ward Horsfall ,

Is there any way with Microsoft Edge I can take my MSA profile (personal) and bring it into my ((Work) Office 365 work account?

Do you mean that you have two MS accounts and you want to implement migration of data from one account to another? If this is the case, you need to export these data (passwords) as a file and then import it manually in another account profile, please refer to these steps:

    1. In your personal profile, navigate to the page edge://settings/passwords in Edge
    2. Export saved passwords as a file, like this screenshot
    3. Login Edge with your work account, and then navigate to edge://settings/passwords
    4. Manually import the data file(saved in steps 2) into the new profile, like this: ZwngN.png

Hope this can help you. But if I misunderstand anything on this issue, please point it out. And please describe your question more clearly, thank you for your understanding.

    Regards,
    Xudong Peng

I don't think there's an easy way to do this, because there are some fundamental differences between profiles using a Microsoft Account and those using a Work or School account. You would have to pick the files you're interested in (Bookmarks, Login Data, Collections etc.) from the one profile directory and copy them to the other.

To spot the files you could use, I'd suggest making an edit to the data you'd like to transfer (e.g. create a new favourite, add a new password, make a new collection and so on), then close Edge and open the profile directory in File Explorer. For the Default profile, that would be

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default

Sort by date modified to see the recently-changed files. Don't try to copy Preferences - that's where many of the 'fundamental differences' aforementioned live. Once you've identified them, copy them into the directory for the work profile.
