I stink

That's generally true of me in the morning, especially after a late
night of fun and drinking (including a shot of 'Chartreuse' which was described as "150 proof liquid oregano".  The most
disgusting shot in the world named after my favorite color).  But
luckily i don't stink as much as Stinky Meat
does.  For those who haven't read this before be warned.  It
is highly disgusting, but extremely funny at the same time.  At
least... if your sense of humour is anything like mine!

Not to be nitpicky or anything, but actually the colour is named after the liqueur, as "food" colours are in general. (Salmon aren't called "salmon" because they're that nice shade of pink, and Burgundy, France isn't called that because the grapes are that colour.)

And indeed, the stinky meat project is a classic!

Eric: Thanks for making me aware of that! I didn't realize that that was the case here. Well, it's a baeutiful color named after an awful drink then :)

    You're welcome.

Of course, the liqueur is named after something itself. The liqueur is named after le Grande Chartreuse, which is the monestary where it's distilled in France.

Of course, the monstestary is named after Carthusian monks who live there.

Of course, the monks are named after the Chartreuse mountain range in France, where they built their monestary.

So it's a beautiful colour named after a disgusting liqueur named after an ancient monestary named after a Catholic order named after a beautiful mountain range.

It's all part of the great circle of life.
