Take a shot of Vitamin Q

Local flavor story: Last night I got to see Captain Smartypants do a performance of their new CD Undercover.  The entire performance was excellent.  Amazing voices singing pieces that ranged from lough out load comedy (an acapella rendition of Sir Mix-a-Lot's “Baby Got Back”) to intensely moving cover of Rufus Wainwright's Hallelujah.

I was glad there were still copies I could buy after the show because pretty much every single song they performed was excellent.  I mean, look at this picture, how could these guys not be awesome?

There was also a great cameo performance from B-Shorty who did fantastic beatbox renditions of Cher and Maroon 5.

It was a performance that I am very glad I didn't miss.

Rufus Wainwright covered John Cale's cover of Leonard Cohen's incredibly beautiful "Hallelujah" (written in 1985, I think). My personal favorite cover is Jeff Buckley's version.
