Egypt's Nobel Prize winning writer Naguib Mahfouz died in Cairo, Egypt

yesterday. He is one of the greatest novelists of all time and is definitely one of my favorite writers. Mahfouz' works introduced Egyptian society and Egyptians lives to the world and, along with his personality, had a huge influence on the Arabic literature. My all time favorite is Mahfouz' Children of the Alley.

 

Mahfouz' passing is a loss to Egypt and the world.
