laptops in the bathroom?
Am I the only one who thinks this is a really strange thing to do?
It seems to be a growing trend at work to bring your laptop into the stall and sit there using it while doing your business... Um...the last thing I'm thinking about when doing my business is typing on a laptop. Geez, I hope I'm never so loaded down with work that I ever entertain that idea. heh. The only thing I can think of that would make it worth it is if there's some super secret network tap that's only accessable from a bathroom stall, but I highly doubt that's the reason. hehehe.
Anyway...yeah...strange and stuff...

Maybe I'm just not liberal enough, but I don't even particularly like talking to people in the bathroom. As far as I'm concerned, I'm in there for one reason, and one reason only. If someone wants to discuss the last meeting with me, or last night's Appentice, then I'd much rather do it at my desk... - Anonymous

I take it [laptop] to the bathroom at home and I enjoy it, especially when I'm in the middle of an article/blog. At work, well, I would take it in if I had access... I mean, taking your PocketPC isn't as quirky but it is a mini-laptop, so I guess if it's "fashionable" then it won't phase anyone in the next stall. - Anonymous

> super secret network tap
You know there's those tiny 2x4 cm USB sticks that can make a wireless network at your work which could easily reach the bathroom. I have one of those and their range without an access point in ad-hoc network is surprisingly big (mine goes through several heavy thick walls even over a long range). Such of course would also be a big security risk unless you make the ID hidden and have 20+ long password.. - Anonymous

No worries...soon everyone will have wireless implants in their heads and no one will be able to avoid web surfing at any spare moment. ;) - Anonymous
