ProvideEditorExtensionAttribute.EditorFactoryNotify Property
Determines whether or not the extension should be registered with a EditorFactoryNotify registry value, which associates a file extension with a specific editor factory.
Namespace: Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell
Assembly: Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.9.0 (in Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.9.0.dll)
'Declaration
Public Property EditorFactoryNotify As Boolean
'Usage
Dim instance As ProvideEditorExtensionAttribute
Dim value As Boolean
value = instance.EditorFactoryNotify
instance.EditorFactoryNotify = value
public bool EditorFactoryNotify { get; set; }
public:
property bool EditorFactoryNotify {
bool get ();
void set (bool value);
}
public function get EditorFactoryNotify () : boolean
public function set EditorFactoryNotify (value : boolean)
Type: System.Boolean
true if the EditorFactoryNotify registry value should be created, otherwise false (the default).
If this property is set to true, the Projects\<ProjectGUID>\Extensions\<ExtensionString>\EditorFactoryNotify value points to the editor factory that should handle the file. The constructor ProvideEditorExtensionAttribute sets the value to false by default.
The following example associates the .myext file extension with the GUID of the Test Editor, so that the project system opens the file with that editor:
[ProvideEditorExtensionAttribute(typeof(TestEditorFactory), ".myext", 32,
ProjectGuid = "{A2FE74E1-B743-11d0-AE1A-00A0C90FFFC3}",
NameResourceID = 105,
DefaultName = "Test Editor",
EditorFactoryNotify = true)]]
