The authenticator wants me to use the authenticator to authenticate the authenticator. This is impossible. I have tried logging in to office365 and making changes in the admin, but keep getting asked to authenticate which leads back to the original looping authentication issue. The weird thing is that it started happening in the middle of the day. One of our email accounts in outlook suddenly asked to be authenticated.

I had the same problem and this solution worked for me. My University's IT support had to do it for me.
