Server 2008 and Windows 10 connection

Hello-

I've been trying to solve an issue that started on 11/4,

Windows 10 V2004 PC stopped connecting to a Server 2008 (running on a VM on a Hyper-V server 2019 host) mapped drive and folders. It would connect, then disconnect a minute later. When connected, we can navigate through folders, but then after a minute or so, it hangs until it connects again a minute or so later

We also have 2 Win7 PCs that have zero issues working in folders the the mapped drives to Server 2008. No delays, disconnects, no issues.

Originally thought it was a Win10 2004 issue. Upgraded to 20H2 and still the same issue. Downgraded to V1909 and again the same issue.
I'm now thinking something has changed or was corrupted on the server. I thought it might be a login issue. I remapped the drives using a different user and still the same issue. Tried a login with Admin rights and one without. Same issue from this Win10 PC

The Event Viewer on Server 2008 shows logon, then logoff over and over again. All about a minute or so apart.

I should also add that I can connect to the Server 2008 server from the Win10 PC through RDP and there are not issues at all. I can navigate all folder, files and apps without any delay or disconnects.

I'm at a complete loss and not sure where to even starting looking at where the issue really is.

Thanks

    Hi ,

In fact, the above error message is general and there is no clear solutions. For SMB file share access freezing problem, we always need to collect network traces + SMB tracing + server memory dump to find the cause.

Unfortunately, analysis of dump/network traffic is beyond our forum support level and due to forum security policy, we have no such channel to collect user log information. So we recommend you open a case with MS Professional tech support service, they will help you open a phone or email case to Microsoft, so that you would get a technical support on a one-to-one basis while ensuring private information.
