How to use Speaker Recognition?

Hello,

My question is pretty straightforward. I am trying to use the "Speaker Recognition" feature of Azure AI Speech (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/speech-service/get-started-speaker-recognition?tabs=script&pivots=programming-language-rest).

I've tried creating a resource in West Europe, that should support the Speaker Recognition functionality (as shown here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/speech-service/regions). However, it doesn't appear in my speech studio.

In the Speaker Recognition Overview page: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/speech-service/speaker-recognition-overview, there is a note saying
"Important

Microsoft limits access to Speaker Recognition. We have paused all new registrations for the Speaker Recognition Limited Access program at this time."

Does it mean that accounts that create Speech Studio resources now, cannot access Speaker Recognition? When will it be available again?

I need to be using this feature very soon for a client's project.
Are there any alternatives (Google, Amazon, other SaaS, etc.) that allow to create voice profiles and Speaker Recognition that is usable through an API ?

Hello @Nikitas , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Speaker Recognition feature is a Limited Access feature available by registration only, and only for certain use cases.

However, have paused all new registrations for the Speaker Recognition Limited Access program at this time.

Unfortunately, we don't have any ETA to share with you regarding this. You can find alternatives as per your use case

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Vasavi
