What GPO setting or registry setting will remove the ability to start typing text in Windows search (Windows 10 20H2 Enterprise) after clicking the Start menu? All the previous registry fixes or GPO's (Do not allow web search & Don't search the web or display web results in Search) no longer work, including disabling the Windows Search service on startup.

    Hi @JKFrancis

Create the entry in User Configuration > Policies > Preferences > Windows Settings > Registry on your GPO and it should work. Just tested this as I was also having the same issue.

    Action : Update
    Hive : HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    Key Path : Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search
    Value Name : SearchboxTaskbarMode
    Value Type : REG_DWORD
    Value Data: 00000000
    Base : Hexadecimal
