Windows Mobile EMEA Applications portal launched
We’ve just launched a very cool Silverlight based Portal for Windows Mobile applications. The initial focus of this site is on business applications.
Take a look at the site and if you think there are applications we should add – let me know!

I'm a huge fan of your blog, tons of useful things..... I'm using Linux as a primary OS and love windows mobile phones. is there any way you can suggest that they make an "all platform" version of this? Silverlight isn't supported for linux.. :(Anonymous

Hi I tried it - BUT, is silverlight some kind of joke. It's so slow it must be deliberate. I really wanted to exam the applications available but I gave up waiting. Ciao, D.Anonymous

Hi Jason, I applaud the initiative, partly because our application CWR Mobile CRM is featured ;). However, there are a few things I'd like to comment about: It's slow! The scrollbar showing the applications is really slow. I keep wanting to push the right arrow so that is scrolls faster... It's nice to show off Silverlight capabilities, but keep it usable. The Silverlight area is too small because of the large header and the menu at the right. Dragging and enlarging the screenshots doesn't make much sense because it's all just too small. Enlarging a video expands it beyond the viewable area? Where's the Search functionality? Why only EMEA? It's a start, but this looks a bit hurried... Best regards, Jeffry van de Vuurst CWR Mobility BVAnonymous

Folks - maybe I should explain. This site is going to be evolving as we launched this to really be a portal for Business applications to showcase them online. It's great to get all the feedback about the site and the comments you have been making are already inputting into the next version. Some people got a little confused that this site was to compete with the Apple Store which it definitely isn't - just bad timing as this site appeared within a week of the Apple Store. The site is definitely focused on Business applications across EMEA as a showcase. Keep the feedback coming though as we want to make sure this site is useful for business customers as well as our partners!
