Signaling layer

This section provides information about the signaling layer, a layer that underlies the collaboration layer. The signaling layer carries out such tasks as making connections to hosts, dispatching dialog requests, providing a control channel enabling one endpoint to invite another endpoint to engage in some activity, and others. The signaling layer encapsulates low-level Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) functionalities.
