Xamarin.Forms 4.5 was released in February, and includes the following new content:
- MediaElement (since moved to Xamarin Community Toolkit)
- State triggers
- Xamarin.Forms dual-screen support
- VisualStateManager: TargetName support
- Fonts: Cross-platform font support
- AndroidX support
- CarouselView: visual states
- DatePicker item selection platform-specific on iOS
- TimePicker item selection platform-specific on iOS
- TabbedPage translucent tab bar platform-specific on iOS
- VisualElement first responder platform-specific on iOS
- Default image directory platform-specific on Windows
- Shell: page presentation mode
- Display a prompt: pre-defined response
- UIWebView deprecation and app store rejection
The following content is new:
- Speech recognition using Azure Speech Service
- Bind iOS Swift libraries
- Bind Android Kotlin libraries
